i read this in an article on yahoo. the headline was '8 things employers aren't allowed to ask you. one of the 8 things was this. 7. What is your race? There is no situation in which questions about an employee's race or skin color should be use to determine their eligibility for a job. This protection is granted under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 that prohibits employment discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex or national origin. Employers are permitted to ask an employee to reveal their race on a voluntary basis for affirmative action purposes. having read it, don't you think our country's just a little bit funny? yeah yeah im supposed to be asleep, not studying so my previous post doesn't actually apply here you know. |
